Candy Cane Milkshake

Let the Christmas Countdown begin!   Here is the 2nd day of  Christmas themed multi-blogger event.  The theme for today is... Candy Canes.  So I had to include my Candy Cane Milkshake because it's fun and festive.  Only a Grinch would say no to this sweet and minty treat.   My husband and kids went a little crazy over it so I hope you try it and enjoy it too.  It's a great way to use up
those broken candy canes... so start smashing them and enjoy!  PS.. Santa may enjoy a milkshake as well...  :)  HO!HO!HO!

Ingredients:
7-8 scoops of ice cream
1/4 cup of crushed candy canes
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 tsp of mint extract (optional)
whip cream
crushed candy canes for garnish

Directions:
In a small saucepan heat your 1/2 cup of water and crushed candy canes.  Allow to boil until the candy canes are fully melted.  This should take a few minutes.  Then allow the "candy cane simple syrup" to cool down.

In a blender add your ice cream, milk, candy cane simple syrup, mint extract and a 2 tsp of crushed candy canes.  Blend well until smooth.   Pour into a glass, top with whip cream and more crushed candy canes.  Enjoy.

Welcome to day #2 of Christmas Week, a multi-blogger event co-hosted by Kim of Cravings of a Lunatic and Jen of Juanita’s Cocina. Today’s theme for Christmas Week is “Peppermint Surprise”. Make sure you visit all the participating bloggers today to see what special dish they whipped up for you.
