1 1/2 lbs of broccoli florets (sliced small)
1 medium onion sliced or chopped
1 bell pepper or mild chilies sliced or chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp fennugreek seeds
1 small piece of cinnamon stick
10-12 curry leaves
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
red chili powder to taste (or cayenne powder)
red chili flakes to taste
salt to taste
Heat 2Tbs of canola oil on medium heat in a large frying pan (preferably with a lid). Once the oil is heated add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, mustard seeds, fennugreek seeds and curry leaves and fry for 30 seconds. Then add the onion and peppers and fry for another minute.
and put lid on pan so broccoli can steam to soften. If your ingredients are too dry sprinkle 1-2 Tbs of water over the broccoli. Once broccoli is cooked to your desired tenderness, taste for salt and seasoning an serve with rice and other curries. Enjoy.
